Campfire Tails 2012
Campfire Tails is an outdoor furry festival that is held in the Deschutes National Forest near La Pine, Oregon from August 2nd to August 6th, 2012. We provide what the great outdoors doesn't, such as private showers and 3 meals a day, so that you are free to enjoy an atmosphere of carefree fun and furry shenanigans.
What to Expect
Unlike a hotel-based convention where the attendees usually bring little more than themselves, nearly everything at Campfire Tails is set up by our volunteer staff and attendees. The Ogden Group Camp, surrounded by pine forest and a nearby stream, is transformed from being a mere smattering of picnic tables, well water spigots and outhouses into a buzzing tent city home to some of the most fun people you will ever meet.
The structure and happenings of Campfire Tails are driven by our attendees, and we encourage everyone to get involved. Activities from past years have included everything from watergun fights, board games and art jams to improv shows and an instructional lecture on how to make bacon.
Starting this year, we are also encouraging attendees to collaborate on the forum and set up theme camps with art, decorations and ongoing activities. The overall theme for Campfire Tails 2012 is Keep Furry Weird, so go nuts and impress all of us what this fandom is capable of!
Registration
Registration for Campfire Tails 2012 is now open.
The base cost to attend is $60, and because all registration options include food and your place to stay, Campfire Tails is ultimately much less expensive to attend than a hotel-based convention.
Registration closes on July 1st, and there is no on-site registration. This year we are allowing up to 170 attendees, including staff. Registration will close immediately when that limit is reached, so don't put it off!
Due to the nature of the event, we cannot allow minors under the age of 18 to attend Campfire Tails.
